As you will all know by now, Stephen Gately died on Sunday

Boyzone singer Stephen Gately has died suddenly at the age of 33 while on holiday in Majorca.

Spanish police said he died on Saturday and that there were no signs of suspicious circumstances. But the cause of death is not yet known.

Gately was on holiday with his long-term partner Andy Cowles. His bandmates said they were “completely devastated” and are now travelling to Majorca.

The Irish band had six UK number one hits in the 1990s and reformed in 2007.

RIP that man.

Thought I'd be better off turning this into a Friday Flashback x Real Badman Never Afraid (R. B. N. A) post. Would have posted this on the day but had a change of heart. It would have been inappropriate of me to appreciate others instead of his band. I'm not gonna make out I was the biggest Stephen Gately fan or even a fan, Ronan Keating was who I rated; wasn't the greatest vocalist but he had a great tone. The Irish accent added some swagger to the ting as well. To be honest I didn't rate Boyzone. Westlife were the better Irish boyband.

Louis Walsh & Ronan Keating joined forces for Westlife, but I was and still am convinced that was a publicity stunt way of passing the baton without making Westlife seem like immitations. They were big when they first landed



I swear I felt most of their first 6 (was at least 5) straight number 1's





In my opinion The Corrs were the best of the lot. Andrea and the violin sister (Sharon) had my adolescent heart.

First song I heard by them was Dreams

RIP TOTP. The slightly off-beat skanks by audience members gave me joke (don't know why it jumps :/ )
