Nah, it can't be true can it?
First off, let me explain how I found it. Yeah that's right, I found it. I Google'd to see if I had done the post below (FlashBack Friday) a time before this. You can try it; type 'marvin sparks flashback friday' into Google. Turns out I hadn't but on my travels (third page) I found this:
BBC - Chart Blog: Labrinth - 'Let The Sunshine' 27 Sep 2010 ... Marvin Sparks says: "If this doesn't hit number 1, I'll... be very surprised." Bookmark with: del.icio.us |; Digg |; Newsvine |; NowPublic | ...
Thought "Oh there must be some mistake, but let me check it anyway". Low and behold, I scrolled down to the bottom and saw:
"Marvin Sparks says: "If this doesn't hit number 1, I'll... be very surprised."
Unluckily for me, I didn't know Tinie Tempah's song was being released the same day. Someone give me release date schedules so I don't overlook a key factor like that again. I feel so damn ashamed. To make matter worse, Labrinth is definitely going to be #2. I'd rather him be further back to be honest. However, Loick's single didn't do well, just waiting to see where Talay's single does next week, so not all bad.
Once again, I'm reminded why I must stop writing like people don't read my blog. More time it's just written however I feel to write at the time for the sake of writing it rather than a well-thought through post. But hey, it's how I do it. Hope you don't mind.
I remember the first time I knew work of mine was quoted on a respected site. Cocaine Blunts (ranked 7th leading hip hop blog by Vibe magazine that year) called my Asher Roth interview "The greatest interview with hip hop’s leading thinker". I was over the moon. I'm not even hip hop, so I was honoured. Check it here
Since then I've been quoted on dancehall sites, uk funky sites, interviews borrowed, and other stuff, and I appreciate it all. I just don't blog about it all the time, but I do appreciate it. Anyway, that's enough for now. Thank you for reading
