Monday Mood

New tune: Shy FX ft Donaeo - Raver (Guinness Punch remix)

Can't comment on the lyrics cos I can't understand what he's saying. His vocals are tight though. And the foundation dub sound? Well, can't lose can it.

Current repetition: Black Uhuru 'Shine Eye Gal'

Related to dub song above, I've been in a Black Uhuru mood since mum ordered their greatest hits off Amazon (if Amazon wanna give me some discount for the plug just email me).

But yeah, the bass on this takes me to one next planet.

Benny Banks Warm Up Session

Yeah, so I took a minute to finally watch all the Warm Up Sessions over on "Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Ess bee, tee vee-ee-eee" SBTV.co.uk. Can I just say, if you use the internet, live in the UK, have an interest in music but don't know about SBTV, I can't rate you. It weirds me every time someone's baffled.

Back on track, this yout' goes innnn! UK rap > US sh*t! (apart from J. Cole. Big Sean's alright).

Dynamo playing tricks on me

Well indirectly me, via Tinie Tempah. Seen this magician live in my eyes a few times. Every time, I've stood there with a :S look on my face. "How the HELL did he do that?!" are usually my thoughts as I stand closely watching to see whether he puts cards up his sleeve or distracts me then puts something into his "invisible" pocket.

Watch him do some tricks on Tinie Tempah. I think I've worked out the first one, but hold tight the juju on the CD cover bit. Absolutely fu-hucked!

Hold tight Twin B: "Oh my good gawsh!" Nah, not that Twin B, the other Twin B. Technically he should be Twin BC whilst his brother Twin BX. I think I'm gonna pitch that idea to them

Speaking of Tinie Tempah...

Tinchy Stryder limps in outside of top 20

I'm not a dude to say "I told you so" so I won't. However, "I blogged you so" isn't the same thing. "I wonder, has the game moved on from this... " is how what I said of Second Chance. I didn't outright say it cos I ain't badmind and I wish man the best but the truth is the truth.

p.s. I also got this right about Labrinth, Talay Riley and Labrinth as quoted on the BBC

Ethnic names

Saw this article posted on Twitter the other day, thought it was quite interesting. I included this in a post the other day about top 10 popular names. I still don't see a problem in naming your kid "an ethnic" (black) name, this article shows the problem is with other people. In case you never knew, I an' I just does I an' I. I set the order.

Pow yeah I'm Lethal da B! Pow twenty on-e on-e

So that lyric needs work (too many syllables). Hear what though, I'm getting gassed watching Lethal B talking about it. It's reality, there will be a Pow! 2011. So far, Kano and Chipmunk are confirmed. Wiley said he's down for it originally, but Wiley changes his mind more than the English weather or a dutty skettel changes her bedsheets. JME and Ghetts also feature on there. Please don't let this disappoint

Marvin Sparks x Raekwon interview

Wu-Tang's in-house "Chef" better known as Raekwon proved he is still a force to be mentioned alongside the hottest rappers in the hip hop game with the release of Only Built For Cuban Linx... pt. II - sequel to his 1995 debut album. Marvin Sparks caught up with the hip hop legend to discuss rapping for drug dealers, people caring "more about stats than raps", his inclusion in MTV's Top 10 Hottest Rappers list, and converting to Islam. Marvin Sparks: It has been almost fifteen years since the first Only Built For Cuban Linx, an album that was a 5-mic classic when The Source magazine held weight. Why did you decide make a sequel?

Why Cheetah Woods, whhyyyy?!?!?!

We must all know about the predator nyamin woman (no bowcat reference intended - or am I lying? *shudders*). Anyone heard the voicemail he left for the girl he's been PARrin (there was a golf reference there) his wife with? Easy now my selekta as we rinse some tunes for di one name Tiger. Man like him doesn't know how to play. (By The Endz not Ruff Sqwad) How you gonna leave a voicemail for a girl with your real name at the beginning? Do you want to be held to ransom? Man from 'the ends' know (in the words of Kano) "That's slippin'!" And when isht hits the fan (like it has) he's buggered. Not something I deal in but surely the point of cheating is for an assortment of ladies. All his ones look the same; blonde, no breast nor batty. Rachel Uchitel bawlin at the scene of 9/11 where her man (fiancee/boyfriend/husband) died The chick whose sold his voicemail on and can be heard above The wifey (why cheat on her with the ones above I'll never kno

Remember When Riddims Were King

Before you read, thank you for your interest and hope you enjoy. I actually fleshed it out into a book. You can get your copy from www.nolongstories.com   Now for what you came here for... When Riddims Were King 23rd May 2020 will be remembered in history for one of the most epic events in one of our universe's darkest times. We will never forget the night dancehall kings and former extremely heated rivals, Beenie Man and Bounty Killer, battled on the Verzuz platform built by hall-of-fame producers, Timbaland and Swizz Beatz. An unfiltered, 360-degree view on Jamaican dancehall events was showcased; DJ’s and dancing (Beenie Man’s daughter Desha Ravers) to deejay’s clashing on the same riddims. The latter elements provided the jewels in the night’s highlight reel, and undoubtedly the best thing to happen on the Verzuz series. Word spread like guava jelly within the dancehall community and Jamaican diaspora upon announcement. Not only was it a clash between the longest and fier
