Twrant: Ugandan dancehall

I've realised I have gone back to tweeting potential blog posts instead of blogging. To counter this, I aim to align the two. I came to this realisation when I wanted to read what I wrote about Bieber becoming the new Timberlake and created the name Bieberlake (although it has been used before).

One of my Ugandan dons posted some UG bashment on FB. Complete with Kartel's "Oh". Bung belly gal wining.

I read an article about dreadlocks & dancehall as a way for the poor to express/empower themselves in Uganda the other day. was interesting

here's the article, mainly about discrimination against dreadlocks but still http://www.thisisafrica.me/city-life/detail/19437/Deadlocks,-the-African-equivalent-of-the-‘hoodie’

Still shocks me that a country with less than 3m population produce music that inspires music globally without mainstream music budget

When I heard Damian Marley say Distant Relatives Tour took Nas to Italy for the first time, I understood another thing about reggae

I met one don in Jamaica that plays in a band for Israel Vibration telling me he just got back from a festival in Poland in front of 10k

I thought "What Poland know about reggae and Jamaica?" But it's easy to think that when you live in London where even MOBO's diss reggae lol

“@TBoneKong: msparks exactly. Jamaica has produced so many international artists & producers - punching way beyond their weight?” way beyond
